It doesn't have value as a collectable, but it definitely has sentimental value far outweighs that of my Bulova. Their 41-mm, silver-gray cases look respectable on every wrist. It's been passed down from father to son ever since. Then take a look at the Accutron II models with the reference numbers 96B213 and 96B214. I do have a real heirloom watch a 1921 Elgin purchased new by my great-grandfather. Looks to be a match for a 1974 Bulova Accutron Calendar 'DF' Log in or register to post comments koobz. It hasn't belonged to my family for generations, which is part of the definition of heirloom. 2) Model number Ive see similar ones that mention 218, 21 but am not sure if thats related to model numbers. Putting "heirloom" in quotes is probably accurate. It is known as the UFO or Flying Saucer Accutron Spaceview and was manufactured in 1970 from the American factory (there was also a Swiss factory). Based on his age, I have no doubt he was repairing watches for a while before Bulova ever made this model! An Accutron in the mid 1960s cost about 150 which represented only 2-3 of the average annual earnings of that time. The open dial doesnt have as much going on as the tuning fork Spaceview, but it still retains a level of interest and quality that leaves no doubt as to the. ![]() I just found someone local who said he can fix it - he actually worked for the store where it was purchased.
